plant trees
with cheese!

For every case of Squeak-ies PEI Cheese Curds purchased, we pledge to plant a tree in our designated reforestation area.

Supporting local is the most important factor in any small community. By giving back, it allows us to keep growing together and further contribute to Canada’s Food Island.

Fromagerie PEI is offering to plant a tree for every case (4+kg) on behalf of the supporting restaurant.

The food establishment will also receive a chart to showcase their contribution to their clientele.

“We put this together because we wanted to highlight the fact that what the restaurants are getting today is trucked in from major processors located over 1,400 kilometres away.

That’s happening while we are here, willing and able to provide them with what they need. Keeping it local is what makes a thriving economy. At the end of the day, we’ve created something that the owners and the customers can be proud of.

They will physically be able to see the contributions that they have made for decades to come.

We wanted to promote our products for our neighbours so we developed our own food cart dubbed “La Poutine Machine”. This would give folks a chance to taste a true PEI Poutine.

Being branded as Canada’s Food Island comes with great pride and responsibility. We are able to produce top quality food and ship it throughout the world. Unfortunately we realized that almost all cheese curds in the Maritimes are imported from Quebec & Ontario. Being a small local business, we want to encourage local food establishments to buy local.
